Seattle I Love You

"Seattle Skyline" 3ftx2ft Acrylic and gold leafing on Canvas

Recently with the success of my Pittsburgh Skylines, I was inspired to start branching out and creating new city skylines to cater to both Seattle Natives to tourist who love the land. My boyfriend is currently stationed in the Navy just outside of Seattle which has given me the excuse to visit Seattle a couple times now and I must say I do love the city. Of course I did the touristy things of visiting Pike's Market, the famous gum wall and the Space Needle, but my second trip out there I finally got to explore the frontiers of the gorgeous environment that surrounds the city. On my second trip I got to travel through Olympic National Park and drive up to Mt. Rainier, a 14,410 foot volcano just hanging out next to city no big deal. When I decided to create the Seattle skyline I really wanted to incorporate breath taking Mt. Rainier with it. I feel everyone is very hyped about Mt. St. Helens but don't actually know about the other volcano always in sight of the city. Although black and gold are Pittsburgh's colors, I love the sleek clean look in the style I've created so I decided to stick to that color scheme for my first Seattle painting. Loving the way it turned out and future cities are to come!

Kids Create with Kait

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh Welcomes Kait for Paint Night

This week Kait got to host a paint night at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh where over 20 parents and children came to take part in the colorful evening!

We saw dragons, cats, trees, and snowflakes just to name a few of the awesome paintings that were created. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear so much laughter in the room! Kait can't wait to host another paint night for them in the future!

Have your own ideas on a fun night for the families at the RMHC? Visit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh for more information on how to donate or volunteer your time!

Kait Live Paints for the PBT

For the second year in a row, Kait was given the opportunity to live paint for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's annual fundraising gala!

Days before the gala, Kait met with her ballerina model to discuss poses and costumes the dancer would be using at the event to help Kait get a jump start on her painting. Kait used the lavender door to the ballet studio as inspiration for the painting's color scheme.
