Austin's Playroom Project Luncheon

So a few months ago I was asked to paint two chairs to be auctioned to benefit Austin's Playroom Project at a luncheon in May. Well the day had finally arrived to attend the annual ladies luncheon and watch my chairs go to a great cause. This years event had a new location held at the Circuit Center and was changed to a night event.

Austin's Playroom Project was created after Mario and Nathalie Lemieux endured their own personal experience when their son Austin was born premature. The goal of Austin's playroom is to create a stress free, comforting environment that families can escape to during medical situations and focus on health and healing.  Since 2000, 26 Austin's Playrooms have been built and counting. All proceeds from the 2015 Luncheon After Dark benefit the Austin's Playroom at Marine Corps Base Camp LeJeune.

This was my first year attending the event and it was absolutely beautiful. I want to thank the ladies and the Lemieux Foundation for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to help others. It's incredibly humbling and honoring to be on the same list as the rest of these influential donors and I look forward to the future with more charities. I've always said I could be the best painter in the world but if I can't do anything with it what's the point?
