So I know I've been a little MIA on blog posts but I swear I've been painting! Things got a little tied up with Christmas and traveling to Seattle a couple times so I've been slacking on my posts. The first painting you'll see that I finished towards the end of 2017 was an acrylic painting of Pittsburgh Penguin Assistant Captain Evgeni Malkin. I had some spare time to add to my Pittsburgh collection of painting one of our athletes in black and white with the smear of yellow. Hockey is my favorite sport, but ironically out of all the athletes I've painted I've never painted a hockey player. I've met Geno a few times in the past and he's really cool and super goofy so that's why I decided to paint him first over the obvious choice of captain Sidney Crosby. Don't get me wrong I love me my captain. I'm sure I'll get around to painting the same version of Sid when I find the time. As David Puddy would say " Gotta support the team."

Next up we have a commission painting I did wrapping up 2017 for my friend and client Tony and his wife Cindy. Tony chose to have me paint straight from a gorgeous photograph of legendary Pittsburgh Pirate Bill Maseroski standing in the out field of Forbes Field. Painting all of that background, I'll tell you what! Wasn't sure if there was an end in sight at times and I constantly lost track of where I was painting but it turned out perfect in the end.

Mr. Rogers Makes TV Debut!

Watch the Mr. Rogers Chair Be Discussed on Pittsburgh's KDKA Morning Show!

I was very very excited when I was told that my Mr. Rogers chair that I had painted for "The Cradle Will Rock" charity event was going to be brought on KDKA's "Pittsburgh Today Live" show and discussed. I was also completely psyched that I finally had a video to be able to post to the public instead of the same old blog posts with just pictures. In the video, two board members of "The Twenty-Five Club" discuss my Mr. Rogers chair as well as other artists work and details about the Gala being held November 1. Definitely a surreal but excited feeling seeing your stuff and hearing your name on TV! The chairs will be auctioned off for neo natal funds this up coming Saturday which I will be attending!
